I am sorry to say that only three kits were made of This 1/24th Transit van it has been hard to find ever since it came out in 1983 ford ordered the first batch of 1000 vans in red and 1000 in white both the Red and white came in the same box and were sold at the dealerships in England only a few did sell in a toy store called beaties but they soon sold out.
This was followed in 1984 by the Hertz & Paris Dakar Rally van, The Efci catalogue for 1984 does however show a 4th van a custom called Spitfire (number 3051) but it has never been seen at all.
Made up they look amazing for a kit correct even down to the wheel covers
Ford commissioned this kit 1983 this was Esci's chance to get in with the biggest car dealor in one stride so theu have a sample van to get Fords aproval and sent it to the head of Ford Europe, He was based in London at the time. This office was clossed a few years later and scips were put in the road outside the office and tons of Ford stuff was thrown away. here is the Pre production model that was taken out of the skip one night after work amazing but true,
As you can see it is about 5 or 6 bimes bigger that the production kit.
