Welcome to my Transit Toy Page this pag is a list page with some pictures down the bottom at the moment all the Matchbox Transits on this page are for you to look at so if you see one that you do not have and would like to talk about it just email me. Please feel free to copy the pictures. if you have come to this page it must be because you have an interest in Transits or collecting. When the casting changed (I believe it cracked) and was repaired it was in the middle of the Yellow flake MB60 production. so the first of this tampo to hit the stores had the number plate on the back. But when the few that were left to run off were done they were MB15 and had no number plate or the words Transit on the back. Within weeks this was £40 if you could find it. see link for picture |

The only wheel variation that has ever showed up on the Matchbox Transit was on the Motor Sport version. for some reason it showed up for a short time only with the dot-dash wheels that are found on the MB38. I have been told this was because they ran out of the MB60 wheels and did not want to stop production so carried on using the Dot-Dash but only for a short while. |

The biggest base variation if you do not take the country of origen into account is the one that shows up on the JCB, on some of the models the writing that tells you where the model was made is in White, the same detail shows up on the Royal mail that was on sale at the same time this one only comes with the White writing not the plane. I have only ever found two of the models with the writing White. one is in my collection the other is in Ohio with Brian the van collector that runs the sister Page to my home page. |

PRE-PRO TRANSITS |

Over the Years that the Matchbox transits has been in production, there has been a number of pre-production models made. Pre-Pro's as they are called are made prior to the main production so that the customer can have a look at what is going to be sold and at the same time the model maker can see what the model is going to look like. Some of the changes between Pre-Pro and the models that went on sale in the stores are quite small but others stand out in a big way. |

The Matchbox model, was out when the cast was changed so the Pre- Pro has the number plate, the reguler one that went on sale does not. |

The Grafi press Pre-Pro only had one change, before going into production the coloring under the word Grafi needed to be on a white back ground |

The parcel post model had another big change as the company needed the P in Parcel and Post changed as you can see, also the Pre-Pro is also RHD and does not have the lights colored in silver. |

|
The Toronga Zoo model was buy far the biggest change between a Pre-Pro and a production model the hole van was changed in color but the logo remained the same. |

The Isostar model came in a set of four Swiss transit, there is a Pre-Pro for the hole set all the tampo's were the same. but the Pre-Pros came in RHD with the production model was LHD. |

In 1996 a set of Twenty Transits came out all had the names of rugby teams from Australia and yes there was a Pre-Pro set of these, I first came into contact with them at the USA Matchbox show in 1996, at Hershey park when a dealor wanted $1000 for the full set, since then I have seen two other sets the one I got off a deallor from Manchester and the other one was being split up and sold off for £50 each at the MICA show this year. |

The "We deliver" transit I think every one knows because of the amount of models they have in this livery in the last few years, there are lots of Pre-Pro's one of which you will see in the picture. |

This is a picture of a true Pre-Pro it is one of the first Matchbox 60 Transits ever to be made in fact it could even be the first it does not even have the model name or place where it was made on the base it was put together to iron out the production problems prior to the model being made. |
