Custom Vans
Made in the 1970s Yatmng custom vans came in a number of different castings they made hundreds of great little vans and without a doubt they sum up what van toys are all about for me. If this castings were Hot wheels they would be worth big money like the supervan casting and Beach bomb but its worth just a few ponds each and not much more carded. Yatming had a number of banners they made toys under Road Tough is just one of the names they used. they did some vans for sale for universal studios TV programs in 1981 and these have the universal studios name on the base the casting number seems to be 1501 and it is on the early models these are hard to find with this on the base. at some time they did change the base to a cheaper plastic base without any markings but it still had the Yatming nameon. There is a very similar model made by another company and Judging buy the amount of different wheels and basses the casting was either sold on to another company at some stage as this copy comes with all sorts of Variations. the copy company also did do stuff for other companies under licence in the latter part of the 70s as they did one model for Dinky toys England. The copy version is still being made today and often seen in the cheaper bigger sets in Toys R us. with roof ladders and lights on the roof
